magic feet introduce three new artists on their first label sampler, as well as a remix from label owner craig bratley. the tracks cover various genres, taking their inspiration from house, italo, new beat and disco. first up is paresse, an alias of swedish producer ivan bergren. *the night before you came* is a hypnotic, evolving slice of future disco. craig bratleys remix shows craig indulging in his obsession with the world of analogue synths and sees the track taking in a deeper and darker direction. craig has also had a hand in editing *lost era* by kepier on the flipside, a track with a direct lineage to the belgian new beat sound. to round off the ep, we have soul tension, an alias of tony beardsley, who also produces as dark strands. *suburban life* is a superb take on the slo-mo techno sound.

third sides infamous *shit on me*, taken from their first full-length release, *unified fields* is given a four-pronged remix ante up by some of technos more illustrious figures. virginia is back on duty with a fierce and hypnotic twist of jagged percussion and echoing sample blends, transforming the original into an obscure and minimalistic techno voyage, whereas morphosis injects his peerless swamp of sonic oddity under his ra.h moniker – reducing the original into a truly experimental six minutes of chilling effects, echoing percussion and irregular drum bursts…a true hardware show. on the flipside, marco shuttle tears up the beat into a twisting, bass-morphing machine stomp, replacing the originals drums and hi-hats with a mesmerizing cascade of sharp vocals and flickering note-repeats. finally, the elusive techno excursionists, xenogears give the original an ominous industrial edge, where harsh drum machine distortions meet long, dreary pads and cavernous vocal shots of the finest analogue calibre. techno restoration is back with a vengeance.

get the curse music 013 features oliver ho aka raudive, one half of duo the eyes in the heat. widely acclaimed for his vicious minimal techno grooves, raudives been on an machine funk bend and crafted two tracks which are as robust as they are potent. true to the gtcm philosophy, distinctions between vintage and modern, old school and new school, mind melting and bodily stimulation are brilliantly blurred. neither house, techno, ebm or synth punk, these tracks move in their own circles. the same can be said for the xenogears remix, miles away from the tired templates used and abused by most producers. fuck genres, lets dance.

crystal mazes album debut is a murky acidic analogue trip with multiple moments of melodic optimism. the long player is called *enter the maze* and features ten tracks on a double 12 inch package with full artwork in limited quantities.
italian producer marcoantonio spaventi and dutchman gijs poortman aka g-string are also known for their work together as part of r-a-g collective alongside m>o>s recordings boss aroy dee. crystal maze debuted on label adepth audio in 2011 with a self titled ep before gracing paul du lacs fledgling rotterdam based label bio rhythm with the dissolve ep in 2012.

with releases under a range of pseudonyms (orpheus, sir leon greg, nite vision) and support for his previous explorations of depth coming from the likes of john heckle, dj deep, aroy dee, chicago skyway and steffi to name but a few, once again perseus traxx unashamedly shows his nature on this release. thoughts, feelings and emotions are by far the most important influences on music, and capturing moments then translating into a musical form he once again documents the more personal elements of his life, taking you deep. perseus weaves a rich tapestry of emotions and desires using heavily weighted bass tones and skipping percussion that thread together with expansive strings and pads. these are married with more detailed melodies and modulated tones that shimmer in and out of the psyche as he uses analogue boxes and their warmth like a loom. this collection of music ranges from the deep and dreamy, to total transcendence within steady dance floor rhythms clothed in a warm yet spacious fabric of sound. deep house, sometimes with a real sense of urgency that juxtaposes with it is inherent flights of fancy.

brilliant 90s sounding house bombs, very analogue feel

after his excellent and well-received coded emotion ep on the mos label in late 2011, analogue fetishist perseus traxx returns for another mos outing. it finds the producer in similarly classic mode, exploring the deep down depths of house and techno in his own fuzzy and hugely atmospheric way.

just one touch has been a long time coming but it emerges as a classic ode to house past and present. porto based producer social disco club was sat on the track for two years before miss bee added her dusky vocals. frayed and taught with emotion, her voice works in harmony with the gritty analogue sounds that drive the track.

limited pressing of 300!! mysterious bufiman and the glorious tim schumacher on the label that fully dedicate itself to the underground house sound. bufiman delivers two magical tracks that blend analogue disco, fantastic house and heavy tribal voodoo rhythms to create something very special in electronic dancemusic - we call it obscure discohouse, he calls it monkey b-boy-style. tim schumacher is representing on this record his very own interpretation of chicago-house and brings us three driving tracks that are rooting deeply in the love for analogue sound production of the late 80ies, no matter if its house, disco or synth-pop, but always with a very personal approach to what house-music is all about: emotions. on the last track no less than dj jakob from terpsiton/vfmm is jamming together with tim and two other friends in a dadaistic session

the release opens with quite baked, a stripped, low-slung cut that embraces loose, swung drums and rolling low-end rumbles. the record adapts to a simplistic hooky structure that allows subtle transitional periods to keep things captivating, infusing a blend of gritty elements that gleam with analogue sparkles and warmth, resulting in a tasteful slice of rough and ready house music. next up is as olways, taking things in a deeper direction with smooth rhodes chords driving the melodic movement.

the excellent beats in space label continues to impress with each release. following up lauers monster mascat ring down release, eddie rushchas celebrated secret circuit project steps up once again, bringing us *afterlife*. a typically freeform analogue synth workout with fx drenched vocals and that unmistakeable secret circuit vibe who better to handle the remix than the ukraines very own analogue ambassador, vakula. his treatment is a textbook vakula production, warm, expertly evolving, raw machine funk. wrapping things up we have a dub version, in the truest sense of the word, an utterly spaced out and remade rub down. typically superb artwork and shrinkwrapped sleeve packaging as you have come to expect.

the first track is reminiscent of a military drum ritual dating back to the middle ages in which drums were used to create a melody that would call the soldiers on their feet at dawn. the second original track is a destroyer with intermittent drum patters and analogue bass lines that will leave nothing unaltered. conrad van ortons takes us deep into the eery world that lies beneath us. patrick kriegers interpretation is a magical dance floor track with eminent eloquence.

these redux releases are like buses, we dont hear anything for ages then they hit us with three killer eps in a row. following the grand corporation and machete savane comes the return of phoreski. we have not heard much from phoreski for a little while, but you will soon hear why when you put the needle to the record on these two new tracks. he has been busily building up his studio into an enviable aladdins den of vintage kit, wires and analogue recording equipment. all synths and vocals you hear on these tracks come from phoreski, no samples, no guests, no edits. he has been hinting at this raw, analogue authentic sound for a while, but these tracks showcase a producer at one with the machines. >brown biscuits< comes across like some lost italo/cosmic gem, but via the north east of england rather than the lakes of italy. >machines< flexes tight proto-house rhythms with some bass that will make mince meat of lesser club soundsystems whilst the feuding synth lines fight for attention. this is proper body music, play loud!

deep house emporium ornate music cast their worldly gaze to the far east, calling on japanese producer sai, a graduate of agness sthlm audio imprint, for a killer four track ep entitled bedroom eyes. the sultry, suggestive nature of the title is translated into the tunes on offer, with opening cut >2am< offering the most subtle of acid lines alongside piano flourishes and a spoken word vocal snippet. better still is the afterhours bump of >blue lingerie<, while >mr< toughens things up on the flip with a analogue grit and cooing vox. the 12 inch is rounded off with another original cut in >another myself<, which is dripping in classic motor city house vibes with gently oscillating bass tones reaching deep down inside.

often overlooked in american techno history are the weird and wonderful flavours to have emanated from the mid-west over the years. no two finer exponents have there been than minnesotas paul birken and freddy fresh. their contributions date back to the early nineties when freddy was exploring the possibilities of extreme techno (via labels like labworks, experimental and his own analog) - an activity that paul took up a while later after debuting on woody mcbrides renegade communique label in 1996. teaming up for the first of two collaborations on this 12 inch, paul and freddy open with >the fate of thirty eight< - a belting slab of analogue techno, where machines shriek and squawk like possessed animals on the loose.
